Producing Successful Translations
Several key factors will determine the quality of translation output. Understanding what you want to achieve, your target market, how you want your translations to work is an essential part of this process.

Project Management
You are assigned a dedicated Project Manager as the single point of contact who will take the time to understand your exact requirements, writing style and communication strategy. They will:

  • Customise the translation process workflow based on your specific needs
  • Prepare and monitor quality assurance checklists
  • Communicate proactively with you at each milestone to resolve linguistic issues and technical problems
  • Maintain multilingual glossaries and translation memory specific to your projects
  • Document individual project history

Your Project Manager may ask for your input at different stages of the translation process and offer opinions where, in their judgment, they will be helpful.

Workflow and Quality Control Process

Translator and editor selection – the team process
The expertise of your translation team is a key determining factor of translation quality.  Your team must understand the subject matter they are translating at least as well as your target audience.  In addition to their subject matter expertise, our translators and editors must have all the basic skills required of all professional translators—the ability to write clear, understandable prose, excellent language and translation skills and native-level command of the language into which they are translating.

Translation technology
Using the latest, most reliable and advanced translation technologies (CAT – Computer-Aided Translation tools such as SDL Trados, XTM and Memsource for Translation Memory Management), the same phrases are translated identically and terminology is used consistently even if different translators work on different portions of the documents. Application of Translation Memory tools also decrease translation time, giving you faster turnaround and lower costs.

Translation Process
The process is simple:  Your Project Manager prepares your documentation for translation, the translation team translates, and the editors edit.  Once the editor(s) have completed their process, the documents are passed back to the head of the translation team for final approval BEFORE the documents are returned to your Project Manager.  The translations are then run through our rigorous in-house quality control checks, and in the case of larger projects, a small percentage may also be sent out for further fully independent linguistic checks.

Rapid and cost effective production of high-quality translations requires integration of three components:

  • Specialised teams of translators, editors, proof-readers and project managers
  • Efficient and consistent use of translation tools (Translation Memory, Specialised Glossary and Termbases, Style Guides)
  • Rigorous quality control processes
